With a little under a year left (11th June – 11th July 2020), Euro 2021 is just around the corner!
This is an exciting event that unites football fans from all over the world, but the 2021 UEFA European Football Championship is even more special.
In 2021, we will celebrate the 60th birthday of the European Championship competition, and to celebrate this achievement, the event will include cities from 12 different European countries.
The 12 cities were selected by UEFA officials, and Bucharest is one of them (to see the complete list of cities, please check our Sporting Events page).
Romanians have a strong national tournament, so there is plenty of football infrastructure, which is why Bucharest was considered as one of the organising cities for Euro 2021.
According to the list published by UEFA officials, there will be four games for Euro 2021 in Bucharest: three groups and one in the Round of 16. Moreover, Bucharest will be the location where the participating teams will be selected into groups, in an event organised at the National Arena stadium, on November 30, 2019.
Even though it’s not the semi-finals or the final, the games that will be played for Euro 2021 in Bucharest are still a big deal. As such, you can only imagine that the city will be filled to the brim with football fans from all over Europe including Austria, Ukrain and North Macedonia looking to watch these games!
